Vintage Franciscan China • Hand-Poured Soy Wax Candle

A second life for a timeless piece.

This vintage Franciscan Carmel flat teacup was thoughtfully sourced and transformed into a decorative candle, hand-poured in small batches with natural soy wax and finished with carefully placed dried botanicals.

Originally produced by Franciscan China between approximately 1952–1981, each teacup carries its own subtle character and history. Once the candle has been enjoyed, the vessel can be repurposed as a decorative accent, trinket dish, planter, or keepsake piece.

Each candle is individually poured and adorned by hand, making every piece unique.

Recommended Use

Because this is a vintage collectible vessel, we highly recommend using a candle warming lamp rather than burning the candle directly.

A candle lamp:

  • Preserves the vintage teacup
  • Extends fragrance life
  • Provides an even melt
  • Eliminates open flame

Many customers choose this option to enjoy both the scent and the beauty of the vessel for years to come.

If Burning

If you choose to burn your candle:

  • Trim wicks to ¼ inch before each use
  • Burn on a heat-safe surface
  • Keep away from drafts
  • Never leave unattended
  • Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains

As with all vintage vessels, repeated exposure to high temperatures may affect the longevity of the piece.

A Note on Vintage Pieces

These teacups were previously loved and may show subtle signs of age consistent with vintage china. Minor variations, markings, or imperfections are part of their charm and history and are not considered defects.
